I believe in the power of relationships. People have a greater chance of meeting their basic needs with the more supportive connections they have. Unite Us brings together health and social care providers, so we can all put client outcomes at the center.
I have spent many years working to build relationships and interconnection between organizations to collectively serve the whole health of all individuals, not just the ones who are lucky enough to find programs. Finally, there is a tool, the Unite Us Platform, to create the bridge between service providers and leverage the power of the community when we serve together
My prior work with community action in our rural Minnesota communities was eye-opening to the formidable challenge of overcoming all of the barriers for those who live there. Food deserts, lack of transportation, scarce mental health resources, and an aging population all exist in communities of hardworking families. At Unite Us, I am proud of the work we are doing in Minnesota and across the country to help people overcome barriers, and to ensure that no one goes unserved in the future.
As someone who lives in a rural community, I’ve seen how challenging it is for health and social service organizations to connect to each other and for my neighbors to access the vital resources they have to offer. My work with nonprofits really highlighted the need for more collaboration, connection, and collective vision. I’m so passionate about the work that Unite Us is doing to support rural communities, acknowledging the leadership and strength that our rural network partners bring to the table. This is the partnership that will change the way we serve our communities for future generations.
